It's Christmastime

It's Christmastime, my favourite time of the year. It just makes me so happy. With Christmas day almost here I am full of Christmas cheer but the spirit doesn't reach everyone. Some people still need to feel the spirit with some very Christmassy inspiration. I've made this guide at how to ensure you are in the Christmas spirit just in time for the day when you wake up ready for a day full of family, carols, church, friends, presents, Jesus, noise, laughter, dinner conversations, too much food, Christmas lights and whatever joys of Christmas you celebrate on this glorious day.

- Go Late night Christmas Shopping
Late night shopping has you surrounded by people rushing to buy their Christmas turkey's and the perfect presents for their loved ones and will surely have you in the Christmas spirit once you are done

- Decorate
Throughout the whole month of December I love to decorate everywhere possible in my house but it is never too late to decorate even on Christmas Eve. It leaves your spirits high and excited for the wonderful day to arrive. I also have fun each year making some of my own decor for my bedroom and Christmas tree. It's something fun and festive to do and DIY Christmas decorations make for fantastic last minute presents.

- Read a Christmas themed book
Christmas books are such fun to read on the lead up to Christmas and there are so many of them to choose.

- Write Christmas cards
Write them for everyone and anyone and it is sure to put a smile to anyone's face including yours. They are extra special too when they have a classic little candy cane attached to the card.

- Cook
Christmas cooking is the perfect way to get into the spirit of Christmas. All you have to do is look at Pinterest for inspiration, pick a recipe and surprise everyone with a lovely homemade Christmas treat made by you. It will also spread a beautiful aroma through your kitchen and then your home and will have eveyone into the kitchen wanting to lick your mixing bowls.
Gingerbread, shortbread and rocky road are my favourite treats to cook around Christmastime.

- Christmas light hunting
I love Christmas lights, they light up streets and spread the joy of Christmas to all who have a glimpse of their lit up house. Walking and driving around to look at all the lit up houses will have you feeling in the spirit of the season.

- Decorate a gingerbread house
They are so easy and fun. You can spend hours creating a gingerbread house or very little time and just covering it with as many lollies as possible. It's really fun to fill the inside with lollies and then when you eat it you have the fun of being able to smash and crack it. It will certainly have everyone laughing.

- Watch Christmas Movies
There are so many great Christmas movies, some that are funny, some that are loving and some that just have a special place in your heart. Some of my favourites include The Polar Express, Deck the Halls, The Santa Clause and Home Alone.

- Listen to Christmas songs and carols
They are the very heart of Christmas. They tell the meaning and the story of Christmas, how to say Merry Christmas in another language and creates memories that you will only remember because of the song playing at the time. Christmas songs are very special and are only played for a very small period of each year and is the way that has me feel the spirit of Christmas each and every year. There are also many Christmas holiday specials that are played my favouite this year was the CMA Country Christmas featuring Kacey Musgraves, Rascal Flatts and so many of my favouite country stars. Disney Channel also presented a holiday special in the Disney Parks featuring the cast of Descendants.

This is how I am getting into the Christmas spirit and hope that you are feeling inspired and feel the Sprit of Christmas arounf you and spread it's love to everyone around you and shine.
